Grid Square Recon

With 11 moves during our more more than 25 years of military service, a lack of a sense of belonging to our community was a common experience. It's a reality shared by most military families.

Grid Square Recon aims to change that.

Leading psychologists speak of two uses of the term community. The first is the location, be it a neighborhood, town, or state. The second is based on relationships, such as the “quality of character of human relationship, without reference to location” (Mcmillan & Chavis, 1986).

Our mission is to create a sense of community for military families in the areas surrounding military installations.

By connecting military families with the people of a location, we can build the relationships that create community through shared experiences.

We'll begin visiting military installations soon, and invite you to help us determine where we go next.

YOU can help US by guiding us as we build community and belonging for our military families and the community members who are standing with open arms to welcome us.

We look forward to sharing our journeys with you!
